Florida Inspired
Expressive and abstract renditions of our magnificent ocean and Florida wildlife, inspired by a lifetime of living as Florida Native and Treasure Coast resident.
Coastal Rhythms II continues the Juno Beach series, focusing on the fluid patterning of tides viewed from above. Layered blues and soft shoreline tones create depth and movement, while fine linear contours echo nautical chart lines. A small vessel moves through darker water, reinforcing the sense of scale and place. Longitude and latitude coordinates are integrated into the surface, grounding the abstraction in a real coastal location.
Mixed Media on Paper, 26 x 18 in (Full paper size 30 × 22)

Dynamic yet fluid, Bait Ball interprets the mesmerizing movement of schooling fish through abstract form. The composition suggests motion, unity, and the rhythm of marine life beneath the surface.
11 × 14 in, Acrylic and Oil on Canvas
Comes framed in black floating frame
Vivid, bold, joyous. Pinks and oranges, the curve of the neck, the poise of the beak — this piece doesn’t shy away. Movement is suggested in how light plays off the feathers, in the elegance of the pose, in the momentary attention the creature holds.
Oil on canvas, 24 x 18 x .75in. Comes framed with black floating frame.
About jodi gaines
Abstract & impressionist Painter
Jodi Gaines is a contemporary artist based in South Florida whose work in acrylic, oil, and mixed media blends abstract, abstract realism, and impressionism. Influenced by artists like Monet, Van Gogh, Mary Cassatt, Jane Davis Doggett, and Mark Rothko she explores the emotions and wonder of everyday life.
A lifelong creator who grew up in the Florida Keys, and along the coast of South Florida, Jodi’s path has included music, digital design, entrepreneurship, and a national tour as a singer-songwriter. Yet painting has always been her quiet constant—a way to reconnect with memory, emotion, and the self.
In 2024, she returned fully to her art, not to begin again, but to return home.

Dog Life
“One of my favorite things to do in the whole world is capture what I call “personality moments” from the three rescue pups that roam my house, and hunt squirrels. This is an ongoing series, and I’m excited to announce that I am now accepting commissions.” - Jodi
Squirrel! is an expressive figurative portrait of a dog mid-alert. The upward tilt of the head and focused gaze convey instinct and curiosity. Loose, energetic brushwork and a vibrant field of blues and violets heighten the sense of immediacy. This painting translates a familiar canine moment into a contemporary, painterly statement.
Mixed Media on Canvas, 30 × 24 x 1.38 in
Who’s There? is an abstract canine portrait built from contrast, gesture, and layered texture. A white face emerges from deep blues, intersected by a bold red collar line. Drips and scraped paint create movement and alertness without relying on detailed representation. The work captures a dog’s moment of attention — present, focused, and just beyond stillness.
Mixed Media (Acrylic and Oil) on Canvas, 30 × 24 x 1.38 in
Dog Whisperer explores connection and companionship. A seated figure faces away, absorbed in thought or sound, while a dog sits nearby, attentive and waiting. Loose mark-making and layered surface keep the narrative open, allowing the viewer to sense relationship, presence, and shared quiet space.
