About Jodi Gaines

Jodi Gaines is an American singer-songwriter and a true Florida native known for her soulful sounds and lively performances. She performs rock, blues, folk and pop on a wide variety of stages as a solo acoustic artist and with her band.

Jodi's debut EP Soul Sugar, a genre-bending, deeply personal compilation of soul, folk, rock and country tunes, will be released on March 23, 2018, with pre-order beginning on January 31. The title track Soul Sugar was officially entered into the 2018 NPR Tiny Desk Contest on March 19, 2018. Jodi's first single, Butterflies, a blues ballad featuring guitarist Jake Walden, was released in August 2016.

In 2017 Jodi founded JGE Productions with the goal to help local musicians garner more visibility by promoting and managing local shows as well as helping them navigate music marketing. Her first show, SoFlo Battle of the Bands at the Kelsey Theater on March 10th was a big hit. She later created Rockliscious, a concert series focused on highlighting women in music and giving back to the community. It too enjoyed much success during it's inaugural 2017 Summer Tour at Terra Fermatta and The Funky Biscuit and raised enough money to put a talented young musician through music school for one year.

Meet the Band

Eleni Skiba

Music has always had a special presence in her life. While growing up in Philadelphia, Eleni's father Nicholas was an exceptionally talented local singer. He became her major musical influence. At the age of three, her Dad exposed her to the music of The Beatles which in turn inspired Eleni to learn how to play the guitar and piano. Eleni's energetic rhythm provides anchor and vibe, along with soulful melodic harmonies that perfectly complements any vocal style.

Now a seasoned musician with over 35 years of musical experience, Eleni has stepped up with some of South Florida's best bands over the years. From 2009 through 2014, she was the resident rhythm guitarist and harmony vocalist for The Samantha Russell Band and from 2014 to present, Eleni is one of the accompanying local musicians on backup vocals and guitar for Nashville Recording Artist, American Idol Season 14 & 15 Alumna and Top 24 Finalist, Emily Brooke. She also performed with up and coming Nashville Recording Artist Cassidy Daniels for A Salute to America's Heroes at Harbourside Place in 2015, and is a part of the South Florida Country Music roster. In addition, Eleni performs with local favorite acoustic ensemble, Nip & Tuck, and will be backing Jodi Gaines in 2018. She has won awards during her tenure for Best Local Band in 2011 (Samantha Russell Band) and 2015/2016 (Emily Brooke).

Ed Berrios

Ed Berrios is a local guitarist and a long-time gigging musician from Brooklyn, NY whose style is rooted in rock and blues. He has worked with the studio band Rocket J Space to back songwriter Rochelle "Shelley" Pinz on her solo project. Shelley was the lyricist for the Psychedelic Pop group The Lemon Pipers on the hits "Green Tambourine" (which went Gold, selling over 2 million copies), and "Rice is Nice." Since then, Ed has played with several bands throughout his career, including Reparata and the Delron with whom he played shows that included Chubby Checker, Little Anthony and the Imperials, and The Belmonts on the bill.

In 1972, Ed moved to Florida and started the band Highway Three before forming the popular band Random Play and later performed in The Jennell Eve Band. Ed currently works as a freelance guitarist, recording artist and is the lead guitarist for Jodi Gaines.
